New Zealand Women’s Flyweight Kate Da Silva Signs to the XFC for Season III | XFC Signing
Seasoned Flyweight fighter, Kate Da Silva will bring her 9-2 record to the Xtreme Fighting Championships in Season III of the International Tournament. Signing an exclusive contract brings the Tauranga, Bay of Plenty New Zealand native into the heXagon in 2015.
Getting her start in mma, Kate Da Silva began training not long after she placed her son in BJJ classes to give him discipline and confidence. As he grew to love the martial art, so did she and even was given the nickname “Jiu-Jitseira”. Now with a family full of ties to BJJ she prepares to enter her seventh year as a professional. Featuring five victories by submission, the 32 year old has displayed her passion and skill for BJJ thus far. The Team Crolin Gracie member trains year round, featuring a strenuous schedule that see’s this mother, wife, and fighter in the gym six days a week, training two to three times per day on the usual.
The dedicated fighter has a relentless work ethic that is supported by her family and team, as her husband Roney Da Silva is also her main coach. The family contribution has propelled Kate Da Silva “Jiu-Jitseira” to her current career position and she will look to them again to drive her on to the next level with the XFC.
