Undefeated Brazilian Pedro Falcao Faces Next Level of Competition in Semifinals | XFC Spotlight

Pedro Falcao

To be 22 years old and a professional mixed martial artist is quite an accomplishment. To be a 6-0 professional XFC warrior is an even greater feat.  Pedro Falcao however, has made it look pretty simple so far and what he has done in his career to this point has earned him his place in the Season II Featherweight Tournament Semifinals at XFCi 10.

Pedro Falcao’s debut with the XFC came at XFCi 8, where he faced off against American Michael Stevens in the Season II Featherweight Quarterfinals. As the referee signaled for the fight to begin, Falcao and Steven’s clashed in the middle of the heXagon and 15 seconds into the round Stevens found himself lifted up in the air by the stronger Falcao. With a slam to the canvas by Falcao, the fighters prepared for  their ground attack, but Falcao had other plans. As he overpowered Stevens and move him into position to accomplish a swift Armbar, Falcao finished the fight at the 1:06 mark of the first round.

With a quick submission in his debut, he is now faced with taking on an opponent of similar body stature, but greater fighting experience, 10-3 Missael Silva. A resident of Cuiaba MG, Brazil, Falcao has a rich balance between striking and jiu-jitsu fighting styles and will look use them to his advantage in his Semifinal bout at XFCi 10. With the level of competition increasing throughout the Season II Tournament, Pedro will have to continue his path of progression to remain undefeated. Training with his team at Nova Uniao, Falcao works to do just that in preparation for his upcoming fight.
