Flyweight Finalist Antonia Silvaneide Ready for Season II Tournament Championship | XFC Spotlight


Grand Rapids, MI | Feb. 16th, 2015 – The Season II Women’s Flyweight Tournament will reach its pinnacle inside the São Paulo Futebol Clube on March 14th, 2015. The finale will feature Brazilian natives Antonia “Marretinha” Silvaneide and Poliana Botelho in the Co-Main Event, Live on Rede TV! XFCi 9 will crown its next tournament champion, a rising star that will emerge victorious from within the confines of the HeXagon and be granted entrance to the International Superfight Series.

Antonia Silvaneide has reached the season II finale after claiming victories in two full-length wars, both at XFCi 6 and XFCi 8. With both of her tournament wins coming after the 3rd round bell by way of decision, Silvaneide has shown that she has the ability and drive to fight till the finish. Having earned her tournament finals berth by defeating Finland’s Vuokko Katainen and Brazil’s Debora Ferreira, Silvaneide is well prepared to abolish Botelho’s hopes for tournament gold at XFCi 9 .

“Marretinha” made her professional debut in November of 2012 and has since compiled a 4-1 record, with only a single bout not ending in decision. On September 27th, 2014 in Araraquara, Silvaneide made her riviting XFC debut at the season II quarterfinals round. Showing her strong Jiu-Jitsu skills honed at Nova Uniao Kimura, Antonia took to the canvas to earn victory. Later, at XFCi 8, the Mossoro, RN Brazil native, Silvaneide took the same approach displaying her strong ground ‘n pound skills as she earned her spot in the flyweight season II finals.

Since her last fight on December 13th at XFCi 8, Antonia Silvaneide has had only one thought on her mind and that is tournament gold. With her goal within reach, the XFC Hexagon will be her canvas to compose XFC history on March 14th inside the São Paulo Futebol Clube.  Until then, her hunger to become the Season II Flyweight Tournament Champion and advance into the XFC ranking system en route to becoming a World Champion will not be satisfied.
